Week of March 20th

This week we wrote stories using Chat GPT. We had to think of 3 key terms which I used unique, friendship, and recess. It generated it into a story about a girl named Lily sitting on a bench out at recess doing art while the other kids play. Another kid named Jack walked over to her asking what she was doing and she showed him what she was drawing. Jack asked her to go play with him and his friends. After that day Lily naver sat alone on the bench again.

Week of March 6th

Well my original goal was to draw the strawberries Andy Warhol did and draw SpongeBob characters inside them. Then I was going through his art again and I found his painting of cheeseburgers. I am an extremely picky eater so I did my favorite foods (cheeseburger, pizza, chicken strips and fries, and mac and cheese) as well as my favorite places to order them from. I did a cheeseburger from burgatory a pizza from 2 pizza places I got to quite a bit Fioris and Vincent’s. For chicken strips and fries I put McDonald’s and Sheetz. Lastly for mac and cheese I put this place in Mercer by Grove City called Rachel’s Roadhouse.

Week of February 27

This week we talked about art and parodies of art. On Tuesday we did an Jamboard in groups we picked an artist then searched different facts about them at the end of class. I was in group 3 and we did Andy Warhal. We found out he was born in Pittsburgh (which is where I am from) he has a museum that I go to sometimes and he moved to New York City to pursue his career after college.      Thursday we did art parody. I chose one of Andy Warhals painting which was his strawberry painting. He has 4 strawberries I traced 6. My plan is to trace characters from Spongebob Squarepants (Spongebob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Sandy, and Plankton) in the strawberry and paint the strawberry the color of the character (example Patrick is pink so I would paint the strawberry pink). My background behind all of them is either going to be blue or the color of their houses (Patrick lives under a brown rock so I would paint his background brown) I have not made my decision about that...

Week of February 13

This past week we spent both Tuesday and Thursday in the Stoner Building dancing. We did the Cha Cha Slide, the Cupid Shuffle, and Gangnam Style on Tuesday. On Thursday we did the Cha Cha slide, the Cupid Shuffle, and songs from The Sound of Music. I honestly think songs that give direction on what moves to make like the Cha Cha Slide or to Hokey Pokey are the best songs for children to dance to. The Cupid Shuffle works too but it does not start giving directions on what moves to make until later in the song. When it came to the songs from The Sound of Music we ended up creating our moves to parts we were assigned to from "These Are a Few of My Favorite Things". Creating moves to a song is a good activity for children in elementary school starting in first grade. It could be appropriate for children in kindergarten depending on what song it is like the itsy bitsy spider. With students in first grade a good song they can create moves to is Pompeii by Bastille or Counting Star...

Week of Feburary 6th

In the video we watched on Thursday '100 Languages of Children' I thought that it was about 100 different languages but it turned out to be different ways that children can learn in school. I related to the dance part because I did dance class from preschool to 4th grade. I eventually quit to play basketball and volleyball which I wish I never did. I think my favorite part of the video was how they let the children create the background when they put on plays.

Week of January 30- Painting Rocks

I had fun painting rocks on Monday. I loved that the preschoolers came on Wednesday to see our rocks. Yes some of their opinions were hurtful bur it was still cute
